The All New 2020 Moto e Smartphone

The Motorola has recently launched its entry-level budget e series in US, the Moto e 2020.

This time the “e” series is back with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632. Yes, it’s an old chipset but still better than the previous Moto e6’s Helio P22 SoC. Actually, it’s even better than the latest Moto g8 power lite’s Helio P35 SoC. So it’s a quite good upgrade from their previous entry-level devices.

Physical Overview:

The new 2020 Moto e comes with a full plastic build which is no surprise as it is an entry-level model from Moto. It weighs around 185g & with thickness of 8.65mm. The battery capacity is 3550mAh that comes with a 5W charger in the box. Considering the weight & thickness of this phone as it’s plus, it has only 3550mAh battery which is slightly disappointing. Good thing is, it comes with Water repellent design. On the display front, it has a 6.2″ IPS TFT LCD Max vision HD+ resolution (271ppi) display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, where the screen to body ratio is also good at 85.6%

Moving on to the internals as already said it equips a Qualcomm’s snapdragon 632 SoC. I have also attached some benchmark screenshots to give you guys a clear idea about the worthy upgrade comparing the SD632 with an Helio P22 chipset, while I used Asus max m2 & moto e6s here for the comparision:

So you can clearly see the difference here. The SD632 is quite a good upgrade.

For capturing this world, this phone comes with 2 cameras. The main one is a 13MP F/2.0 aperture which is capable of recording 1080P videos at 60/30 FPS and we also get a 2MP depth sensor for great portraits. On the front you have a 5MP F2.0 sensor for selfies.

About the storage, it has a 32GB internal storage that can be extended upto 512GB with external SD cards. The mobile comes with only 2GB of RAM which is a bit sloppy! Because the earlier e6s had a 64GB storage & 4GB RAM.

On the connectivity side, it equips Bluetooth 4.2 & Dual-band Wi-Fi supporting both 2.4 & 5GHz. It is a single SIM device but I hope if it comes to India we can expect a dual SIM tray.

Coming to the software, it is running on the latest Android 10 with some cool moto features. The only cons here is about the updates. Moto doesn’t have a good update record in recent times so fingers crossed about the android 11. Other than that their vanilla stock experience is one the best in the mobile industry.

The moto e comes with a single Bottom-ported loudspeaker & smart PA speaker. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack & 2 microphones. It also has fingerprint sensor on the back which is embedded within the moto logo, smart!

Overall the moto “e” seems to be a good entry-level budget smartphone with few flaws that can be easily handled. I hope & wish Moto will come up with 3GB variant and at least a 10W Charger.

Lets wait for its arrival in India. What do you guys think?!
